[vc_accordion style=”boxed_accordion” active_tab=”false” collapsible=”yes”][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Why is best to visit the A1 Alloy Wheel Refurbishment’s workshop than go mobile”]

A. Alloy Wheel Refubishment completed at our Alloy Wheel Refurbishment Centre in Bromley (Kent) is the full package.  It is not a temporary surface repair, which is what a mobile repair limits you to.  Cosmetically a mobile repair is ok at the time of repair, although (depending on the size of the damage) it is essentially a masking processs, akin to “papering over the cracks”.  Over time, the difference will be told.  Our process is a stringent process which includes, stripping the wheel from all previous coatings as part of the preparation; shot blasting and powder coating.  The level of repair and finish you can get from a mobile repair in 30-45 mins is incomparable to the 2-3 days of meticulous work that goes into the workshop wheel refurbishment & painting process.

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. How long does it take to fully refurbish an alloy wheel?”]

A. On-site 2-3 days to fully strip, blast and paint. Mobile: Usually 30-45mins per alloy wheel depending on size and damage.

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Are you insured?”]

A. Yes we are insured, our insurance enables us to drive any car and our staff to carry out work on any car.

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Can you repair bent or cracked alloys?”]

A. At our on-site premises we can repair cracked alloys.  NB: this is not available for mobile customers

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Do you repair split or multi-piece rims?”]

A. On Site, Yes.  They take slightly longer as we have to split them first before the repair process takes place.  Not available as a mobile service.

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. What is the process?”]
A. On-Site First we remove the wheel from your vehicle repair the damage, we then Chemically strip it, straighten / weld where appropriate, Shot blast, Prime, paint and then refit the tyre and balance. Mobile: what we do will not affect the balancing, as we only break the front bead to gain access to the damage.
[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. How do we book you in?”]

A. All you do is simply call us or email us and we will call you back to arrange a time and date which is convenient for you.

A. yes we do need access to a power supply so we can plug in our extension lead , we have around 50-70 meters of cable

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Will you need a space to park outside our premises?”]

A. Yes we need a space to park our vans , preferably a driveway or parking bay etc..

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Do I need to clean my wheel/ wheels prior to your visit?”]

A. It does help us assess the damage better when the wheels are clean, but its not essential.

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. How long before I can clean my wheels and what can I use to clean them with?”]

A. We say try to leave them for at least 2 days and there’s nothing better than a bit of soapy water. (Avoid using acid based liquids)

[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Q. Can you handle metal valves and tyre pressure sensors?”]

A. If your wheels have metal valves and tyre pressure sensors we are generally able to remove and refit them if they are in good condition and not damaged or corroded. However if they require reprogramming or remapping we are unable to do this, and you will need to have this done by a specialist. We will take reasonable care when handling these items but we cannot accept liability for any damage during the repair process.

Although we will thoroughly check your wheel bolts are tightened correctly, it’s always good to check them after a bit of driving as they do become loose over time, and always keep check of the air pressures.
